<p>Buildings worldwide consume a substantial amount of energy, accounting for approximately one-third of total primary energy resources. This issue has raised concerns regarding energy supply, the rapid depletion of energy resources, the increasing demand for building services, the enhancement of comfortable lifestyles, and the extended duration of occupants’ presence within buildings. Consequently, energy demand is expected to increase in the near future. However, improving energy efficiency in buildings has emerged as a rapid and effective solution to address the growing energy demand in this sector. Given the increasing importance of energy consumption and thermal comfort in buildings, this study conducts a bibliometric analysis of optimization systems in this field. The objective of the study is to identify emerging trends, collaboration patterns, and research components related to energy consumption and thermal comfort through bibliometric analyses. To achieve this objective, scientific data were collected and examined from reputable national and international journals and scholarly publications. Quantitative methods, including co-occurrence analysis, co-authorship analysis, and co-citation analysis, were employed to analyze the data. The results of the co-occurrence analysis indicate that the keywords “energy consumption” and “thermal comfort” exhibit the highest link strength and frequency of occurrence. Other significant keywords, including “optimization systems” and “energy sustainability,” ranked among the most prominent terms. The co-authorship analysis based on countries revealed that China and the United States demonstrate the highest levels of collaboration with other countries in producing scientific publications within this field. Furthermore, the co-citation analysis showed that international organizations and research institutions, such as the International Energy Agency, have received the highest citation counts in this domain. This study provides valuable insights for researchers and decision-makers and contributes to identifying key research components and international collaborations in the field of energy optimization and thermal comfort in buildings. Major areas of focus include comfort parameters, control systems, intelligent computational methods, simulation tools, occupant behavior and preferences, building typologies, energy supply sources, and countries’ research interests in this sector.</p>
